How to Visualize and Forgive
Despite what the naysayers might say and think, there are countless processes and methods which anybody (including me and you) can use to help the law of attraction bring the things you want into your life.
Visualization and forgiveness ( more details on visualization here ) is high on the list for importance and is divided into 3 purposes of which I will try to explain my understanding in the hope that it makes your understanding a little easier.
The first purpose, and probably the one that most of us have used the most is, when an individual or individuals visualize the way they want their life to be, which includes the standard of living they want in order to be happy.
The second is when we practice what the Native Americans teach about walking a mile in another man’s shoes, which gives birth to compassion, and the third is a forgiveness practice.
A visualization technique I have used that was taught to me many years ago, and which has helped me and many others using the technique, with our forgiveness practice, works as follows:-
• Find a quiet place where you can sit uninterrupted for a few minutes.
• Sit in a position of power ( back straight and shoulders back ).
• Relax the front of your body ( without dropping your shoulders ).
• Consciously open and soften around your heart area.
• Bring into your mind the image of the person you wish to forgive.
• Mentally send them a message of forgiveness, like , “I forgive you and Set you free your actions no longer hold any power over me. I acknowledge that you are doing the best you can, and I honour you in your process of change. You are free, I am free and all is well between us now“.
Of course the wording can be adapted for the situations in which you feel that an individual may need to forgive YOU for some hurt or wrongdoing you have caused.
In this instance the words may read “I know that within you there is an energy of forgiveness that sets me free. My words and actions have no power over you. You are free and I am free. All is well between us now”.
How to Visualize and Forgive
If at first you feel uncomfortable or insincere during your experiments with these techniques, don’t worry, as you will soon find that the constant repeating of these words, allied to your willingness to truly open your heart, will cancel out the emotion of resentment and you will free yourself from it.
Don’t forget that love is your natural state of being, and by using these techniques you will be tapping deeply into it.
Many people I know who have used this forgiveness technique during visualization, have said that they have experienced a profound opening of the heart, and at least a desire and willingness to communicate with the individual or individuals concerned.
Quite often in fact, they reported that once they arrived at a place of forgiveness, they were actually contacted by the other party, or the next time they met up they were able to communicate and resolve the matter. Having said that, direct contact does not appear to be necessary for this forgiveness technique to work.
